Default DP Extra 330L or GP PW 300S

I have both, they are setup the same. Same prop, engine, batteries and servos. All transfered from one plane to another.

I find the DP to be tough, looks good, and nothing has fallen apart. The yellow is easy to see against a blue sky. Great for playing around with 3D. Even better when the cg is moved back. Wing tube easy to install and remove Not having a hatch sucks!

The PW looks good also, I cannot 3D this one as easily as the DP. The half hatch is better than no hatch but GP should've went full length with it, how much harder could that have been. I like playing around with the 3D stuff, have no interest in imac. The PW just felt allot different. I never played with the setup on it much so this is probably unfair. But I'm sure the PW would be fine for whatever your intended purpose may be. I will sell the PW soon.
I just prefer ole' yeller.

Default Going from DP 300 to a GP 300

I am going the other way. I have a DP 300 and now I want to sell it and get a GP PW 300. The DP 300 flies great, but I don't like that cheap canopy (keeps cracking), Small Cowl (BME 50 really hangs out the bottom) or that Yellow covering.

I just hope I can set up the GP to 3D as well as the DP, because it is a 3D monster.

i have wooden dowel install in my wings so i never had to take the canopy on and off to install the wings; its basically the same set up most 29% and larger kits do with their wings.....

Areobob,
The Wagstaff Extra 300S is my first large gas plane.
I have just about completed assembly. Engine 3.2 Taurus. Starting with a pro zinger 22x10 prop. The only modifacations are using a tail wheel assembly from Central hobby, ( didn't like the kits version ) Rocket city ball links on control surfaces instead of the clevises. I used CA hinges ( hope their strong enough ) but made them a little longer in length.
I added 3/4 glass to the firewall box that holds the engine.
With all this in mind my questions are: How does the plane fly? Have you made any changes to yours? Is there anything you might suggest that I might consider doing to mine?

I have finally finished mine with a Brison 2.4. I could not get my pitts style muffler to fit. Other than that, it is nice. I also would recommend that you move the tank to the CG location. I didn't do this but wanted to. I could not figure out how to do this.

Miles, the LAST thing I would worry about is the tank over the CG. The location of the tube, and the hatch placement make it WAY too impractical.

Mine is up front, lets the motor prime faster, and it doesn't burn enough fuel in a typical sequence of mine (if I remember correctly, that is) to change the CG worth it....

Just have fun with it...when you can!!

In order to make my muffler fit I to had to sand some off the bottom corner. I glassed it to reinforce it.. I tryed to place my tank over the CG also.. It's not going to work. It will be fine right were it is intended to be.
