Definetly a good value for the money. You get some really nice hardware for the $160.00. Just don't expect a 3d demon out of it. Just a great flying sport plane.. I may end up selling mine since I want to get the Wild Hare 92" Cap 232 and can use the money.. If anyone is interested let me know...

I weighed mine today, and it came in at 8lbs 13ozs. [8D] I like that weight with the OS 120AX. I might order some CF landing gear and knock another 3-4 ozs off to help out a little bit. It does fly great the way it is though.

Need help with servo installation... which side of wing should servo arm slot face, tip of wing or root of wing? factory shipped with slot on side of root of wing this seems to allow control horn to be centered in aileron surface... however, some people have suggested slot towards wing tip... directions are not clear about this... what have others done? Should work either way???
thanks.
thanks.

I live at sea level. I am going to try 20/20 fuel as I have read that the 100 likes it. I presently fly with 15% and a 15-4w apc. I have tried a 15-6 but could only get 8600rpm. The motor only has 2 gals through it so far so hopefully as it breaks in more and some fine tuning of the LS needle I can tweek out some more RPM.

I just started building my Edge. A great ARF. The covering was near perfect. I replaced the skimpy 2.4" foam wheels with 2 3/4" rubber and enlarged the pants to fit. I'm using a Saito 125 and 5 Futabe S3010 servos. I will have this A/C ready to fly by September 1st.
I do have a question??? When I look at the firewall and the front of the plane I do not see any right thrust I see in other models??? Has anyone had a left thrust problem flying the Edge??? If so how did you fix it??
Thanks.

I called Horizon about the Right Thrust. They said: "that the model was built and test flown several times and that it was already in there if needed."
They also said" that the aileron horn should be mounted in the center of the reinforced part of the aileron and the servo arm is inboard and towar the leading edge".
I will finish mine tomorrow and sholud fly it Saturday.

I changed my fuel to 30% and threw out the muffler extension, I am now getting about 10k on a 14-4w. The plane flies better now, but now I have to watch my flying abilities.I almos lost it tonight doing an attemtp at a flat spin. This plane can be a handfull when the throws are increased. The snap when pulling out came within a foot of the ground when I got it back. Then off to mellow flight and change my shorts.

Does anyone know what size spinner the seagull edge540 uses? I'm wanting to buy an aluminium spinner for a friend of mine who's getting one for xmas but don't know what size it needs?

IDk when the versions changed,Ive had mine since about mid summer. I was just flyin it today. I finally found the right prop for my YS 120 and it's a APC 17x6. Man it has tons of power. I can fly around 1/4 throttle and it still has plenty of surface travel for great snaps..
The only drawback with this plane is thats its not really great for 3d,and Kedges are pretty lame.. But it rolls and snaps beautiful..

I bought mine last winter. The instructions on the web had wires but the instructions in the box did not. I am tempted to add them anyways.

Good thread everyone - thanks for the info.
I just picked up one of these from my LHS the other day, but I have a question before I start building. Would Futaba S3151 servos work for aileron and elevator on this plane. I have 4 that came with my 9C Super and I'd like to use them if possible. This is my 1st 60 size plane, so I asked the experienced guy at the shop. He said (using 6 volts) they'd be okay for everything but rudder. He sold me a Hitec HS-645MG for that. What do you all think? Is it safe to use the 3151's anywhere on this plane? They're supposed to produce 54 oz. of torque at 6 volts. Enough??[sm=confused.gif]

Im thinking they should be ok. I had the 645s on my ailerons too.. I think of it this way, dont go cheap on the servos..
I just crashed mine,so if anyone needs parts,I have a the wings and tail parts, and the canopy hatch leftover..
later,
