Default NEW FUNTANA X 100 & X 50

It would appear that H-9 is upgrading the Funtana's. It might just be the addition of removable SFG's and new color schemes, but I may finally break down and pick up one of those new X 100's. I only wish that Horizon had used this SFG design on the showtime. My main concern with the Showtime was that if you change out the SFG's several times, you may weaken the structural integrity of the wing, But I would think that with the new Funtana design the worst that could happen is you loose a SFG.

I loved my funtana with saito 1.80 but crashed it due to a battery failure last fall. I was just getting ready to order a new one and saw this new funtana x. I wasn't crazy about the yellow on the funtana s90. I hope this one is as much fun to fly as the old funtana. looks like the same bird with SFG's

Because people that do it the way you do are the best right? Whats isnt an advertising gimmick? Saying that a yak knife edges without coupling is an advertising gimmick. There are many sport and scale pilots who say "Awww, just fly the plane like a real one is intended to fly".

Its a hobby....its science. Let people play.

I was out in Cali for a business trip a few months ago and saw a guy at a field out there flying a F-40 with a set of home-made SFGs that looked identical to these. They made absolutely no difference to the flying qualities of the plane. As a matter of fact he took them off and threw them in the trash before he left the field that day.

That color scheme looks terrible to me but I guess that's nothing more than personal preference. I'll stick with my "old" F-90 and F-40.

I made some tip plates for my F90, and it worked pretty well. It improved knife edge, roll rate, and low speed handling. They were not near the size of these SFG's, and they still caused problems. Landing with the wings perfectly level is not something I like being forced to do. They were always getting caught on things and getting torn off. To me, it wasn't worth the little bit extra in performance. The sfg's are very large in comparison, making this even more of a problem.

However, I really do like the color scheme. I think it's sharp.

Hi guys, I saw these planes in Toledo. They look better in person [ the colors]. I just wish they would distribute the larger 78" S140 that is available. The larger version is very impressive. Anyhow I placed the order for one this morning, should be here last week of Mayor the first week in June.
thx Dave
