Yes it is the 100. I threw out the stock tank and put in a 14 oz du-bro. I had to cut one of the hatch formers so that it would clear. The servos are digitals and I reversed them in the radio.

What's the servo setup with the rudder and elevator? I read that someone is using a pull-pull, but pictures indicate tail mounted servos with pushrods. Does the elevator require a servo for each side?

The rudder is a pull pull and I used a servo for each side on the elevator.

Still no flight report, the weather man didn't lie today, it was 25 to 30 mph winds. I also hit the canopy with my heat gun while taking out wrinkles. I hope my LHS can get the new one by this weekend. By the way, do not try and fix a melted canopy with the heat gun that you wrecked it with in the first place.........live and learn. It was no wear near as bad befor I tried to fix it.

Maiden flight took place tonight right before dark when the wind finally died down here in Georgia. The plane flew great with no bad tendencies. Didn't try a whole lot besides just easy flying after a few clicks of trim here and there. With the 91fx on it and the way it floats, the plane flew level flight just a few clicks above idle. Perfect three point landing. I have a 15x8 prop on it but want to try a 15x6 or 16x6 3d prop if I can find one.

Here is the video

Yeah Im dyin here...............14 more hours. I hope to get video too. The man says great wheather for 2 days straight. I think I need more fuel, I only have 2 gallons and 3 planes for 2 days will eat that up quick. My 150 saito on my CAP drinks fuel like milk.

I just tooka look at my WM Super Chipmunk and its great for scale flying, time to remove the AX 4130 and it will go into the FL Edge. Looks like I will start building her over the week, should have it ready in about 2 weeks time. Hope you would have flown yours by then Vette!!!

Great first flight, or should I say first 2 flights. The fire wall came loose on the second flight but no other damage. All I can say is that I have a new favorite plane. This thing truly flies bigger than it is. it took every thing I could throw at it. The only small complaint that I had was I could not get my flat spins real flat. It might be the CG or my control throws I will see tomorow, and hopefuly have video soon.

I also got a chance to fly ah4k123 Edge 540 and it does fly very nice,, I did notice the rudder didn't have enought ump to keep it on a hover but I think it's because it was a little nose heavy so moving the weight back should help on that,, but it flew very nice,,,,nothing like and Edge!!!

Here another video of ah4k123 Edge 540!!!

Vette, I had to beef up the firewall too. I originally had the battery on the engine side of the firewall which made the plane a little nose heavy. I move it back under the throttle servo and flew it again yesterday and it flew with the same nose heavy characteristics. Next I'll try moving it over the wing tube to see if that helps any. Where do you have your battery?

In it's current set up, I get the same flat spin results as you do.

Where's your video.....I'd like to see your ship fly.

My battery is also on the fire wall. I have 3 servos in the tail though and the CG came out at the aft recomended setting. I will shift bat in to the plane beside the tank this weekend and go from there. I am having problems getting my video onto the computer, I think I need a new USB cable because my camera will not up load. I do love this plane though, Hover did not lock in for more than a few seconds but that will be fixed with the correct CG. As I am just learning to 3D this plane makes it easy, All attempts at the pattern were crisp and looked very elegant. Did I say how much I loved this plane...Verticle was unlimited at 3/4 throttle and very low speed flight was extremely stable. This is a nice change from my extrz and big cap.

Well, wish me luck for tomorrow. I have to finish the programming on the TX but if the weather smiles at me I'll maiden it.
I just put it on the scale and I'm kinda disappointed: 6 lb 7 oz dry . I used the same set up as on my Fliton Extra ( same engine, servos , battery. hardware ) and it came 4-5 oz heavyer , 8% less wing area and 30 bucks more. I'll post a flight report no matter the outcome.

vette2fast,

I did one flight 2day in 22 mph gust winds. I can say that the Saito 100 is too much engine for this plane. I never thought I'll live the day to say it but I open full throttle on up line for 2-3 sec and the plane went like a rocket, banged the stick for a lomcevak and on mississippi_1 it did 3 tumbles. Burned 5 oz of fuel in 10 min and I was not trying to find the stall point on that wind. I cannot say much for the moment but it seems like a cross between a speed plane and a profile, it has very little drag and everything happens very fast. I was amazed by the roll rate and wing dumpening, it stops really nice and crisp.
On the landing, the tailwheel got caught in a crack and broke off.
I'll do a follow up when pressure gradient comes back to common sense.

Boby

vette, I have 2 HS 475 for elevators, 1 HS81 on throttle, and 3 infamous Blue bird 621 for the rest. The set up is pretty much like yours , Cf rods , 3 servos in the tail and 13-14 Oz tank.
