Guys,

Does anyone have this plane? How does it fly and what do you think of the full-flying stab? What engine are you running?

Thanks IA,

John

I have a Diabolic with approx 20 flights on it. Great fun fly amazing build quality like all the top model stuff. I would say that the Diabolic is a pure 3d type plane. Amazing 3D potentiol but dont expect it to fly like a pattern plane. I found mine wanted to tuck in anything above slow forward flight. Got used to it and started flying it on the stall where the tail comes into its own. Amazing vertical dives with negative parachute at the bottom. Looks supereb as it is fully stalled with the nose pointing 20 deg up but model coming vertically down.
I have a Irvine 53 in mine, just enough power to climb out of a prop hang I would suggest more power.
I only had one problem so far with the tail linkage causing a crash and that was due to the metal servo arm falling off the 8411 on the elvator control,
Apart from that this is a great fun fly with a bit of difference that makes it stand out

Mine has a Magnum 91FS with an APC 14x4W, it flies great!, but I had to change the ball links in the stab for the adjustable ones from DuBro to get rid of some flutter above 1/4 gas, after the change every thing was perfect, make sure not to get play in the stab system and use a good servo. The Kulbuto, waterfalls and hover are excellent!!.

Dang, I tried to order one of those, but the guy wouldnt sell me one cause he said that the tails were defective. He recalled all of them cause people were putting YS140s in them, then flying them at full power, and wondering why the tails fell off in the air. Any idea if they are in stock at the moment?

Another victim to whiners. Along with lawn darts and fireworks. Sigh...

3dbatixkid,

The Diabolic I have was a vendor sample we purchased last spring. I was not aware of them not selling this model anymore. It looks great and I can't wait to get it together.

Default What modification?

Hi Zb, what is the modification to the tail? Is it anything that current owners of older versions should be made aware of?

Thanks much,

JW

Default RE: What modification?

I have a 61" TopModel CZ Diabolic that's brand new. Gonna maiden it this saturday. I never seen a 3d plane where the Whole Elevator Stab moves. This is gonna be interesting.
Im using a Turnigy 600kv motor geared for 3-5s. Im using a 5s 5000mah Lipo with a 60a Esc. I love the Fat Wing on this plane. it should really float. Only thing is i cant seem to find any videos on youtube. does anyone actually still have this plane? i would like to open up this old thread and start a discussion again.
i have my fears and wonder if the Elevator will hold for i never seen this type of design and do have my doubts.

John, late answer, (13 years). I have had two Diabolics and loved them. Used electric power. I have a new Diabolic, in the box, and am willing to sell. Anybody interested and what is it worth? Low Tide Flyer.
