For 3D the Hype 3D hands down.

It is a fantastic 3D plane. Light and very tricky. Power it with a West 50 with the pipe or a YS 63 or a Satio 82 would be insane.

The Balsanova is good if you want a faster flying airplane, it is not a 3D plane.

If you want to split the difference between the two, the new Filton Inspire 60 looks to be the badest purpose built 3D plane in a long while.

If you could get a Madness 2, I would buy that over the Hype.

Are we talking about the same plane?

You can find BOSSANOVA (NOT BALSANOVA) here: [link]http://www.alshobbiesstore.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Ripmax_83.html[/link]

Thanks

I haven't flown the Hype and only have about 2 minutes on a Bossanova. I know people that love the Bossanova but the one I flew wasn't set up for my style so can't really comment. I know a guy that has flown both and he thinks that the Hype is significantly better.

Based on his thoughts I have just ordered myself a Mini Hype. As far as Weston UK ARTF's go I have had a Groove and it was a great model.

I hate pull-pull systems. Could I put two servos in the tail of Hype?

Thank you

The elevator pull pull works very well. Just use a bigger control horn.

Mount the rudder servo in the tail, it would work much better that way for balance.

They fly almost the same. The Hype is a bigger plane and flys a bit bigger. The Flip rolls faster. I stoped flying the Flip after I got the Hype.

Can you get a Madness 2? Do that.

Not I.

Search Madness here in RCU, I am sure you can find who carries them.

For all I know, they may not be in production any more. Plane is made by ZN Line.

Thank you

But there is a problem about Madness 2. The color scheme is not very good for 3D. You can't see fastly if the plane is upright or inverted.

This is my bossanova with a TT 46 engine, more than enough for hovering and torque roll

Yea the Hype wing is one piece and there is nothing to do with it when you get it. It is already built.

Hey Forrest, haven't seen you in a while. You going to NashBro?

Forrest is right, the Fusion is a great plane. I do like the thinner wings of the Fusion compared to the fat wings of the other planes we have been talking about.

Today, I prefere the Fusion type planes over the fat wings planes like the Hype/Madness. The new Fliton Inspire will be my next hard core 3D machine.

Hi.

I was just wandering, what do you guys think would be the best bet for me with a OS .50SX,
The Hype 3D or
The Madness 2?

I prefer what i have heard about the hype over the madness (tailplanes breaking apart and such), but power is going to maybe be
an issue, or am i wrong!?????
I desperate to get flying again next month so its time to blow some cash, lol

Hi,
I Know this is a bit late for you but i would suggest you a Bossanova with that size of engine it whould be perfect.

I have a Jen 56 on my Bossanova very power full in 3D manuvers and never gave problems but the OS are the same type of engine so it will work fine on it.

Here is my video of prop hanging my Bossanova=
