ZN Madness II
I'm trying to think back to Sandown. Maybe it was on the stand that CPLR had (spent my time qawping at the new Suxess) he had quite a few models on it.
I only remember the Synergy 90 3D on the Petrol Power stand, and Probuild werent there.

It was on the petrol power stand. While we were there i caught a glimpse of a just opened box next to the Synergy 90 containing a fuz with Madness 2 on it.

Yep, i tried one last sat. snaped like a dog, and it was very heavy. It was powered by the Dingo and futaba radio. There horrible planes to fly.

Hi Guys
Probuild weren't there, because Probuild were at Romilly. ZN are bringing out Madness 2, because it was on their price list.
Suxess - I saw it when I was at Romilly, Christophe flew his Synergy, but not the Suxess. Suxess was nice!

Glad to see this thead is active again.
Is the Madness II being produced? Are they available?
If its got the Flips wing and tail that should be great. The Flip is good, however it needs to loose a pound of weight.

edible... YNOT is right... needs to be lighter.
YNOT... they are going to be available yes... I am expecting to get some soon... Im not sure it is the same wing as the FLIP.... but it does have ailerons all the way out to the tips which is what might be fooling pople into thinking that.
I will come back with more info as soon as I have it you can trust me on that... give me a few days ...

I know only a little
The new Madness II is part modified Synergy 90, fuselage and tail grouping if you look at the rudder shape and how it is counterbalanced.
The wing will be a modified Madness wing.
The good word is that it is noticably lighter in weight than the original Madness ARF which makes it very light indeed. The Madness ARF was very light already.
My two motor picks for this one would be YS63 or OS50SX. They come out very close in weight after one counts the muffler on the OS, but the YS would have a definate power advantage.
Digital servos are a great idea but absolutely not necessary. No less than 69in/oz of torque on the ailerons for a respectable roll rate. 90in/oz plus would be better. Surprisingly, the elevators and rudder could use standard power servos, but I would go with as much as can be afforded to wring the maximum potential from the airplane. My choices for seros would be S9550s all around. Strong and very fast. 2100mah Ni-Mh on 6.0V will allow you to fly long flights all day long.
Did I mention lighter in weight than the Madness (rhetorical question). Perhaps one might want to tie the tail group together with kevlar thread or aluminum tubing to avoid losing the tail during hard maneuvering (how many ARFs of all types might have been saved if this little step were incorporated into the finishing process?...rhetorical question again...'I was just looking at it and the tail fell off'). Although I have no experience with it, I do not think that reinforcing the gear area should be necessary. This airlpane should land like a feather for those not inclined to do a motor out inverted glide into the hand or capture from a torque-roll.
Yes, I shall wait patiently for my copy...my trusty Madness the 3rd is still going strong wall after wall after parachute and I have yet to crack the tail by wacking it against the ground. THe Madness II should be a wonderful demonstrator for next years show season.
Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark
I'm still working on my Madness, just it's at Probuild, and is undergoing some changes (e.g Tetra and MK Hardware) and a last minute switch to JR. I think Madness is a cracker, I can't wait to see Madness 2.
Madness will fly in 2 weeks (just that Probuild is 80 miles from me - LOL!)
Biggles.

Talk about good luck.
I arrived at the factory this morning to a bevy of boxes. A few Synergy 90 and several Madness II, one of which I have already lathered with saliva to stake my claim.
Superb. Very nice. Very light. Yes, full span ailerons. Very similar to Madness I but better quality (which is very difficult to surpass, I have never seen a cleaner ARF at any price although Syn 90 is right up there too).
Incredible lightening work. The tail group felt rather strong, but I'm still going to tie mine together.
I'll order my YS63 today for it. I need one more S9151 for digies all around. I should have stayed in the shop and built it today, but I have other important things to do today. I figure if I start early tomorrow moring, then fly in the afternoon, do a little bit more tomorrow night, I can finish it up Monday evening.
The servo tray is alreay mounted inside with copious lightening cut into it. I hope I can find a cleaner method of tank mounting than the original Madness.
The graphics on the side, especially the Christophe Paysant-Le Roux are done in bolder lettering so they are less likely to slide away after being smothered with Coolpower Heli fuel oil.
I am told that this wing will fit directly into the original Madness, but on the II it mounts a bit higher on the fuselage with a full, but shallow belly pan permanently attached to the wing instead of just the front and rear panlets.
Hey Mr. YNOT,
This should be your next funflyer...and for pete's sake, don't chop off the wing tips LOL!!!
Maybe I will slow down a little on the building and snap some photos and do a short construction manual. That will still make it ready for the show next weekend.

The scheme.
It was early and before coffee but I can say that it is very similar. The graphics on the fuse sides are nicer. The wing forward of the spar is in white, the main area is clear with nicely laid "leaves" of Benoit's favorite colors similar to the picture.
I'll get some photos posted in the next day or two as time permits. Man, this one looks fun. I'm going to build it to the max, substituting anything that I feel will make for a more accurate performer.

I have to leave the wingtips on??????? DAM!!!!!!!!
Need a little help. Here in the U.S. it will be 6-8 months before we see them here.
How can my 3D brothern in Europe help me get one quicker.
Mark, can I buy one direct from ZN?
Or, do any of you know of a hobby shop that will carry the plane?
UPS and FedEx ships all over the world and everyone takes Visa.
Waiting for Central Hobbies to get them in, well.........it would be next year, I can't wait that long.

damn this planes look good!!!!
but i'm thinking if the price is about the same as the synergy i think i'll buy the synergy 90 because too me it seems to be more
versatile with the f3a wings
but i also like the looks of the madness II
those guys at zn really know how to make great looking planes
how about the suxess, has anyone heard some news about it?

Suxess - ugly?, sorry not me, I like it. Saw it at Romilly, it's not Christophe's prettiest. But his prettiest is the Majestic - for many probably the most beautiful model ever created. Madness is ugly, we've improved the current one, thanks to MK & Tetra parts and a custom made Carbon canopy (made by us!). Madness 2 - she looks to be pretyt, I'm thinking about one. But from what I've seen the changes may not be sufficient enough to warrant a change of model, when the current one goes as well as it does.
