RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
Hi All
Any news John?
I've got a Bling on order so I hope it should be with me within the next few days. Going to use my spanking new DL50!
Plan to put JR9811 25kg on the rudder, 2x Waypoint W-1620MG on the elevator, JR ES519 on the throttle. Not sure about the ailerons yet,
maybe the same as the elevator with a matchbox and seperate battery for them. I could also use 4x Towerpro MG996R which I already have. Would this be a good set up? Too much load on the RX?
With regards to removing the under wing covering, do you carefully peel it off, glue the wing and then iron it back down or replace the film? Is it really necessary to do this or can you get enough glue in without opening it up?
Could you guys please post some pictures of your setup in the fuse? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
SK

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
well i finally got the first flight one my bling, i am very impress with the flight performance.
it flies at walking speeds with just a 10 mph head wind.i don't think you could get any better even with a 50cc profile. as a matter of fact i don't know of any 50cc slab that comes in at
14lbs. 3 ozs.with a da50. CG is at 7.5"at the root of wing and flies hands off when inverted.
didn't try any fun stuff yet, just did laps and tweaking the needles on carb for now until i can trust the new engine. this is going to be a fun plane at 2-1 power to weight ratio.
mite half to start to look for one NIB for that future dumb thumb move.
5985's in the tail
5645's in the wing
a123's to rx
2500 5 cell for ignition,i needed the nose weight, mounted on engine stand off's

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
Hi there,
I can't find a manual for the Bling, and need to check if it's possible to use cans. Due to noiserestrictions in-cowl muflers aren't good enough.
I'm going for a DA-50 and a KS can (if possible)
Thx
Michael

all you got to do is check the glue joint at the root rib.at 14.3 lbs. and almost 1500sq.inches of wing area with a da50,thats what i call fun!i buy another if i could find one.

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
I tried to buy a Bling in April , but everyone here in Japan was sold out.
I wanted to import one, but the shipping would have cost more than the plane
I sent a mail to Seagull models and they replied that the next batch would be ready in June.
The importer here Angels Japan told me the same thing. He mailed me last week to say they were
back in stock, got mine a couple of days ago.
Seem to be plenty available in the US for around $325 That is an awesome price for a 50cc gasser!

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
This is what Seagull had to say about the wings when I mailed them in April
My Mail
Dear Sirs,
I received an email from "Angels Japan" informing me that the 'Bling 3D 50cc' model
will be available in Japan in June.
Can you please confirm this model is still in production?
I have heard rumors that this model is discontinued! Please confirm!
If I have to wait two months I would like to know this model will definately be available.
I am not sure if you are aware of this but, this model seemed to have some problem with the
wings breaking in flight. It seems the problem was due to lack of glue around the wing tube
and root rib.

Look forward to hearing from you
Kindest regards
This was the reply
Hello,
For your information this airplane is 3D fun fly. The design of airplane just do for slow fly only.
There are many new pilots without the knowledge and very poor experience did fly this airplane very hight speed like the style of F3A or Extra - Cap - Edge 540.
That is the main reason the wing was not strong enought.
The Bling is still continue for production line.
Have a nice day,
Seagull Team.

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
WOW, it is like there in another world !!!!
Even flyers that have never owned a BLING know about the wings !!!
We did the simple mods on ours and have had hundreds of HARD 3D flights
with DL50s on them and NO problem...
Put together out of the box with NO mods the planes would NOT be here...
With luck the planes would not hurt anyone when they came apart...

Google search seemed to come back with several hits

I think the reply I got from Seagull models shows they don't give a ........ about their customers.

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
I have had the plane for about 6 months. I like to do a alot of straight up fast rolls. On this particular day i was just messin around and at the end of my flight on the turn into final approach the left (I think) wing just came off!! When it did it somehow pulled on the throttle linkage and the plane went full throttle. At only 50 feet high there's not much time to think. Anyway that was a full throttle dirt nap!!

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
Congratulations on your maiden; I'm sure it was nothing but fun. With their huge thick rectangular wings and their light weight, these Bling 3D's really are a great flying aircraft. I hope that you reinforced your wing's root ribs with tri-stock; it really does seem to make a difference in the durability of the wings.
Also, I find that these Bling 3D's are really hard to locate anymore. I crashed my early in the year and I could only find one more Bling 3D ARF in North Carolina. So, I have another one now, but I try to fly high with it. These things are so rare and such a good flyer that they are going to become collector's item's.

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
What is the wing area of the Bling 3D? I'm trying to compare the new Great Planes Reactor to the Bling. I have a friend that has the Bling with a Evo 45 on it. It is a super fun plane to fly. I'm hoping the Reactor will be just as much fun....maybe more.
Thanks
Barry
