This is one of only a few videos I have found of our Model. Its not the best Quality. I lost my job and my build is on hold until I get back to Work.

RE: Nitro Models Extra 330 90 - 63
Has anyone tried an OS .61 2 stroke on this plane? I got one that needs a home and love the look and price of this airplane. If not this one, any other recommendations for a good 'budget' home for my .61. I enjoying pattern type flying with a little 3d thrown in here and there. Thanks for any tips.

I had an Old OS61 Blackhead on a GP U-can-do 46. It flew great!!! I have been thinking about trying the U-can-do 60 size for some time now. I hear its a better plane. I think the .60 would be to small for this Airframe - NP 330L.

I think that would work fine, However when comparing gas to glow engines you do loose some power with gas, the absence of nitro methane. I was actually thinking of putting a 20cc gas engine on mine. I have not flown mine yet and may consider buying the other color scheme and put the 20cc on it. Why not..

Sorry my Model has been benched for a while due to home improvement projects. I do finally have everything needed to complete the build. I am going to use Super Magnets to hold the canopy down. I plan on gluing them into the fuselage location where the blind nuts from the canopy meet.

I guess I do have an update, I was thinking about getting another one of these planes and installing the new 17cc size Gas Engines. See info below,
http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/RCSSV17-H.html
http://www.prcmodel.com/modeng/name/...od/product/342
They are both $180 bucks.
I'm pondering my 1st Gasser build, see my thread here:

My model has been on the bench too. With the weather change and my new house, I've not had much time to fly. Also, I was thinking about converting it to electric. Everything else I fly is electric and I really like the convenience of electric since I live in the city and can't run engines here. It would make set up at the club easier too. Just been thinking. I already have an OS .91 installed, and basically its RTF, so I'm not sure what to do. Most of my time has been dedicated to building my indoor planes for the winter season. So I'm not too much in a rush.

Well I finally had time to work on my plane, its 98% done. Interesting, I have not added any weight to the nose and the plane balanced at 131MM just off of the 127mm recommended. I may try some rubber tires to see if the CG moves forward a bit. She should be ready to fly come January.
Do any of you have the CG for your planes that are flying?? I want to compare your CG to my CG before I fly.
Thanks
Fast Eddie

make sure u tape the hinge gaps, this caused a lot of flutter on mine, and my rudder set up is in a crisss cross pattern. and that took away the fish tail tendencies!!! ( i think the rudder counter balance is too long from design)) IMHO..take the weel pants off on the first fights,hehehe...mine,well....

I really wish this plane would get back in stock. Finally crashed mine and need a replacement. Been flying it as an electric w/ a turnigy SK 5065 on 6 cells and its been an outstanding flyer. I did have to toss the original landing gear and use a taller one to give me clearance for the 16" props I use but that is the only real mod it needed.

My plane fly's well with the OS FS91, It still was a little tail heavy to balance. I have not flew it enough with my new job getting in the way of my flying time. I fly mostly at 50 to 60 percent throttle.

RE: Nitro Models Extra 330 90 - 63
on my first flight with mine i flew it in to the side of a club members volvo. i just got done breaking in the st .90 i was in the air for about 2 minutes when the engine died, had to make a with the wind landing and some how was blown of course and into the volvo, felt really bad. which by the way was about 9 months ago. anyway i have had about 2 flights on it since and the st .90 engine just doesnt seem to have any power at all. plus it just doesnt seem to run well. one of the club members recomended i make a plug change, forgot which one, but i will try it and if it doesnt run worth a crap then that engine is coming out for something more reliable.

Yep, I feel your pain, those super tigers are more like sick kittens, but I'm sure someone will try to tell you its your fault for not tuning it right.... I've had 2 ST engines, and both were very underpowered compared to the same displacement or even less OS equivalents.
I had a ST .75 in mine, and it was horrible. Would run just fine, but honestly it turned a 12x6 prop the same as my buddies OS .55! This is the second time I've wasted money on an ST, but never agian. Sent mine to hobby services, and they sent me a brand new one, whick I left in the box. If anyone wants to buy it, PM me....
I just got done putting an ASP .91 two stroke in my Extra, I've not flown it yet but running the engine in on the ground you can tell its going to be much better than the .75. I'll try to report back when I fly it.
Part of the issues with engines in this plane is the tank location.... way to far back. I currently am trying to use a Perry Pump to fix this, but again haven't messed with it too much... got an electric heli that is just too much fun, especially since its very low hassle.....

Got my Supertigre G90 running flawlessly with a idle bar plug( dont remember the brand, i think is a miracle plug) on 10% omega (pink) turning a MA 13x6. No hesitations or funny running, I bolted the engine break-in stand to my tool chest and it moved it!!! I just finish the installation and I'm waiting for next week to fly it!!! I expect this combo to be unlimited vertical and reliable on 3-D pull outs..

Well, the Extra flew today!!!!
...The Power 60 has plenty of power, I never needed to go past half throttle during the flights...

SO-How much flight TIME did you get ?
If you hovered it,How much throtel did it take.
If you gat a chance, perhaps you could borrow a Watt meter.and check the AMP draw,
at full throttel.
THANKS For your time : BilleFly
