Funstar 3D?
Im looking for a aerobatic plane to sport fly with and when i feel like it, switch on the high rates and do 3D flying. What engine will power it good? I was looking at the Tower Hobbies 46 or the Magnum 52xls. Does anybody own one of these? Are they good quality? Heres a link if you haven't seen it.

I don't know about the quility but for 100 bucks it will have to be fun until it breaks and if it does not a huge loss, as for a powerplant if you are looking for a two stroke that is lighter than the two you are looking at and have the same power and use ALOT less fuel try out a Norvel AX40 I have one the will spin an APC 12.25x3.75 like a top and it sips fuel.

My flying buddy has one. Covering quality is good.... nice and tight. Doesnt come off so easily as the china stuff, the red will peel but not the base transparent orange. Hinges are pinned, and the weight is very decent (Unsure of the figures, but pretty lightweight).
YS63, the battery at the rear with the ele and rud servos. So get that xacto blade ready for surgery work.

The Funstar will fly happily on a 46 2C and it can fly fast too! Not recommended though. Quality is good for what you pay but you might want to change the hardware a bit like the clevises. She flies well and is not too bad for 3D. Its easy to build, only issue you need to guide the throttle cable properly so that it does not get squished by the wing, you will see some balsa blocks given with the kit. I say get it. Try her with an APC 11x5 too ... its a nice all rounder prop.

RE: Funstar 3D?
I had the funstar w/Saito 40, hitec 225mgs, 650mah nimh. A real floater, and suprisingly tough. I also had a TT46 on it for a while, plenty of power. I currently have one on floats w/ Saito 72, and it's a gas! I've flown the 3Demon, and it's very similar, maybe a little higher wing loading. For 85 bucks, you cant lose....T.
