Default New Funtana Pro !

Hi Guys,

I was able to make work merge with play and attend the Sinsheim
show in Germany while on a layover. I purchased the brand new Funtana Pro from Exclusiv Modelbau while there. It has the following features and enhancements to the original:

-airfoiled tail feathers with provisions for a HS-5245 type servo in the stabs.
-removable horizontal stabs
-new fuselage construction using balsa sides
-20mm taller turtle deck for improved knife edge.

I was told that the structure comes in 300 g or 10.6 oz lighter than the original.

Overall, the kit is excellent except for a slight defect on the balsa/foam turtle deck. The instructions leave a lot to your imagination including control throws and CG but any experienced modeler will be able to figure it out.

Did the Funtanas imported by Desert Aircraft have English instructions ?

Default New Funtana Pro !

WOW, Looks great!!
Is this a new ARF version of the one DA offers? Same size? What kind of price tag are we looking at? I would like to hear more about it once you get it in the air/ or as you have more time to evaluate it. BTW, nice looking covering scheme!

It's not an ARF but just a revised version of what Desert Aircraft has been selling. It's 375 Euros. DA has been charging $400 US.

Default New Funtana Pro !

That looks superb. Its a good thing i am not well off (i thought i would never hear myself say that!)because i am still saving for my funtana- now i can geta funtana pro instead!
If i was rich i would have bought the original one by now, and then i would have had to get another one!
With a weight close to 9lbs and, enhanced knife edge flight and a wing section tail, the Funtana Pro looks like it could give the Znline Majestic and the synergy 90 3D a right kicking! Its cheaper too! Ha Ha!
I can't wait for them to become available at Probuild. Lets hope their price will be similar to the original, and that they don't put a rediculous price on it like their High Society.
That would be a great shame. Lets hope that yet another fantastic plane is NOT restricted to just those with deeper pockets!
If their price is extorsionate though, i might just go get one from Germany,(it would probably work out cheaper) because i have well and truly fallen for this plane.

I believe the price went up about 10 or 15 Euros. The kit's really nice. I'm especially impressed by the cowl glass work and the wood. Mine will be electric powered so the even lower weight is a bonus!

Has anyone flown the new version? What are the dimensions of the kit in inches/feet? I assume this is made for the ys 140dz

Shorty, it'll be a 2M. I think I might indulge myself in a second kit, just for the summer building. HAHAHAHA......
The Funtana original will still give a Majestic good competition, so I am not put off by it.

Default New Funtana Pro !

I just talked to Desert Aircraft. He said that he is going to talk to Harold tomorrow or the next day to find out about the Funtana Pro. He didn't know anything about it. He also said he would be receiving a shipment the first part of April, but he didn't know if any Pro's would be included. I did ask for one!!!!!!!!! Gotta have another one. Mine crashed a month or so ago. Wing broke doing a blender. It was absolutely the best plane I ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure the Funtana Pro is the only Funtana now offered so any new shipment to DA will be the Pro.

From what i can see,There is nothing new about the funtana pro on the www.emhw.de website. All the info and pictures are the same, they just changed the name from Funtana S to Funtana Pro.Not exactly a good way to advertise a new product, eh?I wish their writing was in english as well as german!I have emailed Phil williams about the availability of the Funtana Pro in the UK but have got no reply so far.Hopefully they will be selling them at Sandown!

I would say that they sold the first batch at the show, to see if there are any final problems they missed that might have sliiped through, before going into mass production.
I would wait to see if there are any problems with it before buying it. You can ring Harald, and ask to order one directly from him.

Default New Funtana Pro !

I was only there on Friday and didn't catch any flying demos. They had one at the booth that was Hacker powered. They sure had some yummy purple motors at the Hacker booth !

I'm going to have to check on this , but if you look at the cowl , there are a bunch of screws around the perimeter. I wonder if he mounted the motor directly to the cowl ? That might be possible , especially if you put in some strategically placed uni carbon.

Default Funtanna Pro

Hi there,
As far as I know Probuild UK be stocking the new Funtanna Pro. Price is expected to be near to the current price of the Funtanna kit. Luke, with reference to your comment regarding the High Society, please could you remember that the price includes: U/C and Spats, the colour scheme design, VAT & Delivery & this is an ARF , which isn't included in the standard kit supplied by F3A Lorenz. I think it's fair when compared to a Majestic by ZN Line.

Robert, I wouldn't worry - what you have is a quality model, I have a Caprise and I love it. I would never swap it for a Synergy!
I hope you have a great time flying it !!

All the best

Biggles
