When you see the top of the plane it's instinvtive. When you see the bottom of the plane, point the rudder stick toward the nose of the plane.

Thats very helpful. [8D] Now If there is a trick to remembering which wing is left and right when the plane is comming twards me....... On ailerons I just use the trick of pushing the stick under the low wing to remeber and that has always worked great.

Whatever direction I move the aileron stick I just move the rudder the opposite way. I tried a lot of the tricks mentioned but I always got screwed up. For me this was the easiest way to remember. After a while it becomes automatic.

for me its about about what i see on the plane as sometimes i am not even thinking which way i am moving the sticks its all about what i see. I also push the low wing up with rudder on T-rolls when I see the back side of the plane....[8D][8D][8D]

If i move the aileron stick into the center to roll it into ke the rudder goes into the center as well, if i move the aileron stick outwards to roll into ke the rudder stick goes outwards as well, hope this helps.

Thanks! This sounds like a good one to try!

Well that only works for the first half of a rotation.........

Roll whichever way you like then hit the rudder. If the nose goes down you were wrong, you and everyone on the field knows it.
You have a 50/50 chance.
Why am I wrong 90% of the time then?
Opposite the aileron input from upright. With the ailerons when inverted.

RE: Tricks for remembering which way is up on rudder inputs KE?
I used to use the method that's already been suggested:
If you can see the canopy, push the stick toward the tail / if you can see the belly, push the stick towards the nose.
The idea of pushing the stick the opposite way to whichever way you pushed the ailerons only works if you initiated the roll but sometimes your model will find itself in knife-edge for other reasons and you've made *no* aileron input -- what do you do then?
The secret is to just practise, practise, practise. Eventually you won't have to *think* about it, your thumbs will automatically know which way to go. This happened for me about 6 months ago and now I feel *really confident hucking low on the deck because recovering from a bad situation is 100% reflex now -- no conscious thought required.

This one does seem to work well!

Its easy when the top of the plane is at you - as we all know.
I just need to pratcice rolling the belly at me and KE back and forth.
Burn fuel and force my self to pratcice.[&:]

KE's scare me trying also to learn to make the right rudd. input at the right time. I usually see wich way my nose goes up or down just before i turn it on it's side. that way i know for sure i am right. But is getting easier to where i am usually right but still scares me i do this way up.

That is what works for me. Its very intuitive, no thinking required.
The real trick is what to do when the plane is inverted. When its upside down just push the inboard wingtip (closest to you) in the direction you want it to go. So if the plane is upside down and going right to left, you just add a little left rudder to push the wingtip forward and the plane goes away from you. Another way to see this is to just pretend that when the plane is upside down you are actually putting your rudder thumb on the wingtip. Simply push it in the way that you want it to go and the stick movement goes the correct way.
Again, no thinking required. [8D]

RE: Tricks for remembering which way is up on rudder inputs KE?
My brain works as someone described above.. In a knife edge if I can see the canopy is towards me, I envision my thumb on the leading edge of the top wing.. In my mind if I'm doing a right to left knife edge I'd need to add some right rudder, because I'm holding that wing up.. Probably makes no sense, but that works for me.. When the canopy is away from me, I just have to remember to "push forward" on the top wing..

RE: Tricks for remembering which way is up on rudder inputs KE?
I'm a total noob at this but this is how I taught myself:
If I rotate and see the "top" of the plane I say "top", the rudder stick will move the "top" wing left and right respectively.
If I rotate and see the "bottom" of the plane I say "bottom" ,and the rudder stick will move the "bottom" wing left and right respectively.
I doesn't matter which way the plane is flying and to keep the nose up it is intuitive to move the top of the wing back or the bottom of the wing forward.
Does that make sense?
Works for me!

An even easier way, if the aileron stick moves to the center of the TX (left ail), then the rudder stick must move to the center of the TX. Just the opposite for right aileron/left rudder, each moves outward.

This only works if you are upright
It's what we call the "Sticks Together" "Sticks Apart" method.
When you are inverted you need to "Parallel the sticks"
