Default OS 160 What Plane

Due to a re-kit'g I now have a OS 160 that needs a home. I think I want a profile with removable wings. Any ideas of suggestions.

160 is a lot of motor for the mojo 65 isn't it? I know the aeroworks Extra 260 profile uses the 160 and so does the OMP Edge 540 80". I plan on putting an OS 160 FX to the OMP 80" Edge when they finally make the ARF for that plane.

It depends on what you call "a lot". [8D]

I also reviewed the Hangar 9 Sukhoi SU 31 3D and it was a really nice plane for a 1.60. So would the 74" EF Yak. There are no shortgaes of good choices.

I wish they would make the ARF already, I have no time or skills for the kit.

Yeah you do... You just have to take the time and follow the instructions. It was not long ago that if you flew you had to build your own plane.

When did you hear this? I asked OMP and they said they have no idea when the arfs are in.

I think a YS140 is more powerful than a 160 OS or very comparable. Only difference will be the fuel cost (30% vs 15%) with the YS using the more expensive 30%

The YS 1.40 is about the same as an OS 1.60, but it has a little bit of trouble effectively swinging an 18x6 prop and the 1.60 can do it with no problem.

i would second that about the OMP 80"Edge.i just wish the ARF would get back in production,a while back Mike from OMP said maybe by spring it would be back.but now i hear through the grapevine that it probably not going to happen. i just sold a 80" Edge kit in hopes to buy the ARF when they came out.but the good news is that the kits will be back in stock soon, i hope.put a os 160 with a tunepipe or a MCP will be plenty for it.

The EF 74" Yak is nuts with that engine, best flying plane (though mine came with a Brilleli gasser) that I have ever had my hands on.

I'll chime in on the 80" OMP kits.
I really like mine.

There's a video on here somehwere that a friend took of me having some fun.
http://www.rcuvideos.com/item/4YXBQ4KL0TDXZ0G5

Attached is a bad picture of mine.

Building the kit was a long tedious process for me, but in the end, it was a great project.
I'm 52 years old, and been flying for 30 some years, but had forgotten the sense of pride there is in building
a kit from a box of sticks and seeing it fly.

Take care
Bob
