Default flutter problem...

I recently bought a hanger 9 tribute 36 pnp. After taking a few flights i have noticed the rudder flutters really bad. i have lined either side of the rudders hing with wide package tape and it still continues to flutter. What would you reccomend I do?

Check all of the connections for slop. Worn clevises, Servos with slop in them, too much freeplay in the hole in the control horn etc will all contribute to flutter. If there is any slop - correct it.

Are you trying to fly the plane fast?
Is the rudder centred for straight flying or is it offset a little to compensate for some other airframe characteristic?

panzertank,

Sometimes flutter is present because the servo is to weak or the control linkage is not strong enough. Go to a higher torque servo and if your using a 256 control rod, try a 4-40.

you probably used the stock hardware,. if you find that CF or 4-40 pushrods doesnt help, uprade the fluttering control surface servo(s) to hitec 475's

I also have the Tribute PNP. It is a fun plane that I bought used, but in almost new condition. I found that the pushrods used z-bends that created a massive amount of slop. I went to clevises and heavy-duty swivel links to remove the slop.

Be careful of less than gentle landings weakening the fuse below the wing.

Dave
