Mine did exactly the same. Flying straight and level. Poof the elevator exploded in mid air. Lots of people saw it. Lots of plane damage when it finally made it back to earth. Examined
the elevator and the leading edge split. Tried to get Great planes to replace it. Only a few weeks old and 3rd flight. They said no way. Wanted me to bandsaw the wings off and send it back to them. I took pictures but that wasnt enough. Not paying shipping to send a defective plane back to the manufacturer. Also not bying another Great planes plane either. Replaced it
with an AJ slick and it is awesome. Great planes definately designed a crappy tail on the reactor. The LHS owner saw it happened and Great planes refused to even listen to him. Sad.

My condolences.....I guess we all live and learn....my U Can Do same thing. I gave the fuse to a friend and he
can play with it, told him to ensure he puts "solid" stab, etc on it if he intends to fly it.
I was always apprehensive to fly even at 1/2 throttle. And that aint the way to fly RC. They have a defective
product(s) and wont admit it. Who makes the AJ Slick? Cheers!

AJ slick 42 "

Best flying 3d electric you'll find (in my opinion of course)

Well built, seems to be capable of everything we throw at it. AJ did a good
job designing this one.

You wont be disappointed.

GP wake up before its to late.

I had the same thing happen to my EP reactor also flutter sound... elevator snap... and down it went. It's such a sweet flying plane. My son bought another and we are beefing up all the weak spots on it I called GP about it and they said they would replace it if I shipped it to them... I had already started repairing it so they sent me a cowl. I'm not so sure how they can keep selling this plane if it is snapping apart in the same place so consistently

I had one of these fail the exact same way. Horizontal stab snapped in flight also. It was not pretty. I emailed Great Planes and they basically said they don't warrant crashes. I've read this here and also on RcG about this model. It's an awesome flying model... I have another one... just took it apart and beefed it all up. They are using very thin balsa in there.... basically it looks like 1/16 x 3.8 strips. Everyone that has this happen to them... you need to contact them... maybe they'll get it fixed
