Those are Chip Hyde control horns. They came with his kits. I'm sure you can get them anymore.

frieshoo is right. I have a set from an old Chip Hyde CapX. I have them on a 27% Edge now. They are nice. If you find any please post to let us know where to buy them.

Supersparky, check with Chris at F3A Unlimited: http://www.f3aunlimited.com/

He mentioned they are getting some in stock in the next week or so. They are not on the website.

I agree those are very nice control horns!

Thanks I will check with him.
I would prefer to buy within the USA. If I can't get these horns I will probably do these horns with ball links between them.

Default RE: where to buy these horns?

Ihave those horns on my DV and the bearing/clevis setup sucks. Unscrew the tiny little phillips head pin more than a couple times and the thread in the clevis gets loose, and the head gets stripped easily because the pin is soft metal. They arent really good for 3d throws either, especially with short ail. linkages. I almost lost my plane twice b4 i learned my lesson. when you put a side load on them the clevis spreads and evrything goes to hell.

Solution: Buy some 4/40 dubro ball swivel links. There is a little silver standoff that is beveled on one side to go between the ball link and horn. Put that piece on a peice of 4/40 wire so it can spin, bevel down. Take your grinder and make a bevel on the top so both sides are beveled. ( I used a makita grinder with a cutoff wheel @ a 45 and the peice will spin on the wire creating a perfect bevel). Now press out that bearing on the control horn. mount your ball swivel link to the horn. One bevel fits into the control horn where you pressed the bearing out, perfectly centering. ( i recommend using the factory bevel here because it is perfectly machined and will center on all axis perfect when tightened with the included nut and bolt.) the other side of the beveled peice( the bevel you made), will go towards the brass ball in the link and the bevel you made isnt as critical here because it only provides relief for the plastic link. Truly 3d throws ready, ultra precise, and no flexing on any axis. The best thing about the chip hyde horn is the geometry and the thick alum.

Wildnloose just posted a great website; a lot more than control arms, groups of technical data as well.
