Default New 73" MX2! - from Redwing RC

HeyGuys

Just wanted to let you know all is moving forward with the batch of MX2s we're getting in ( www.redwingrc.com ). We have some video on the video link on the site now and you can see this plane is a perfect blend of looks and performance.

Iworked very hard to find a plane that had all the features that most anyone would want. This is the perfect next step to a combustion 3d plane, that won't break the bank but will fly like more like a 50cc and have very scale features.

I'm have a full build video (will go live soon) walking the user through assembly - so even an inexperienced builder can get it done easily.

It came to 9.7lbs with everything but fuel(battery, ignition, JC28cc engine, spinner prop ... everything It has more wing area than most in this size and is lighter than most. It will put the wingloading very much in the arena of 50ccs and beating some.
It is built very light but strong. I worked with the factory to make sure every aspect was perfect, and the factory was already a good one to begin with.they have a more westren idea of quality and long term customer satisfaction.

It comes mostly prebuilt - pre plumbed gas tank - finished cock pit area, the rudder cables are already in place just waiting for a servo. It will go together very fast. It has very scale features - airfoiled tail, the fuselage slants in towards the bottom (instead of being a flat box) it has a foam turtledeck - the list goes on.

Anyway - this plane is the perfect blend of features for a pilot who wants a 3d plane, but wants it to be combustion and would prefer gas instead of nitro, but still wants it to fly light. This is it! You can get all up for under $1000 for a brand new beautiful performing plane. (combo $600 - servos $230 for all - receiver $100 - carbon fiber spinner $40 - prop $12 = $982 - You could go even cheaper if you wanted and get it close to $900. I'm going to be offering some PowerHDservos after I'm done doing testing on all of the ones I'm looking at) You'd only save about $100 going to a nitro .90 sized plane and it would fly nowhere near as well in comparision.

Also - Iam going to be offering a differnt scheme for it... I'm going to have it come as show in the photos here, BUTthe stripe on the wings will not be heated down. This will give you ultimately flexibitly in what you want to do.I'm offering 2 graphics sets for it on top of the stripes that come with it. So you can have 3 options ready to go or it will be very ready to customize to your own tastes.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

OH - Iam offering a sale price of $325 for the first 10 planes... you can reserve yours for $25 and that will apply towards the price.Ihave a couple of the first 10 spoken for, and Iwill only be getting 25 in this first batch, with a nother batch to follow in late summer/early fall.

Thanks for looking - Ilook forward to hearing from you
Tim

Yep, it is 1025, and at 9.7lbs that puts it at  21.9

or if you do cubic wingloading  (this option is more scaleable down) that's 8.21about the same as your lightest 50cc planes!

Yes, VERY good And it is under 10lbs

I could have gotten even lighter but figure this is a pretty close measure

Pants are on, aluminum (non lightened) spinner, standard gear. The only thing different I did was to go to a single battery system. But I have a heavy battery (2400mah a bit overkill). you could go with 2 1300 mah batteries and achieve about the same weight.

Plus is you went with a carbon fiber spinner you'd save another 1.5+ oz.

In a plane this size, weight is EVERYTHING - so when you build it, keep it light. Wood props, no unnecessary "improvements"

3 oz in a 25% plane = about 1/2 a pound in a 30% plane.

Hey Guys - just wanted to let you know I have the video up.  I'll have video up of the Sbach soon also.

I have special pricing for the first few planes I sell, and I have 5 (out of 10 special priced ones) already spoken for!

They are due in June, but I may have the special priced ones sold (deposit) before they arrive.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Also - I'm looking for someone to sponsor if you are active online and at the flying fields contact me and I'l like to talk

The plane looks great. Glad to see you stuck with red and black as the primary colors. I think it looks great!

What is the covering material of your planes?

Bought a really nice 25% extra in peak models and the shame was the covering material. It striped in the air.

I´m willing o to pay extra for good covering material that last.

Cheers,

Juan

The MX2 is Oracover - (Ultracote/Oracover same thing).  The Sbach, I'm working with them on final color details so I'll let you know or post it on the web when it's final.  I"ve flown both hard and fast and it's stayed perfectly in place though!

That MX2 looks good! If only I had the cash for another project right now, I'd have a hard time choosing between the MX2 and the Sbach. And don't be threatening sponsorship just to get everyone's appetite's whetted . I'm sure most people out there wouldn't mind getting their addiction subsidized a little. Very pretty plane.

One more thing, did you speak to Chris Meyers about the design? He's a great guy to talk to and alluded to a company coming out with this sized aircraft before too long. I'm just trying to figure out if he was talking about Redwing or not.

They should be in hand mid June to late June.  and yes picking up here in Ballwin would be fine.

If that weight is with all components that should be a GREAT fit for it.  I'd definitly go carbon fiber spinner though, as the JC 28cc is 42 oz all parts - and I had to throw the battery back pretty far (I could have gone further but would have had to get creative)

Hey Guys! They are in stock and ready to go today!Just so you know some other planes floating around out there (30cc mx2s)that LOOKlike mine don't have aluminum reinforcement in the landing gear mount. These were my prototypes that Irejected from the factoryand they will likely rip out on you. They weren't supposed to sell these here. Make sure you don't get stuck with one of those

Contact me with any questions
thanks

Will you be adding build videos for the Sbach? I'm very interested in that plane and would like to see how it goes together like the MX2. Will you be addinga shorter version of video 2 for the MX2 build?
Thanks

Yes, I have it being edited now (the sbach build).  Should be up in about a week.  It has aluminum posts instead of fiberglass horns, but other wise is similar
