See it here...I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS IS NOT BEING OFFERED IN A GLOW VERSION TOO!!! oh well... i guess the market is changed for us ole traditional glow guys... no engine guys.. considering the nice new gas powerplants too I guess it's time to get some batteries *grin* this looks like a winner.

RE: NEW BEAST 60
What do you have on the front of the cowl to simulate a radial engine?
|
RE: NEW BEAST 60
There is a decal that comes in the kit.

RE: NEW BEAST 60
Is there any way to put a small gas engine in this airframe?

RE: NEW BEAST 60
ORIGINAL: lomcevac540T Is there any way to put a small gas engine in this airframe? You would have to do quite a bit of strengthening and reinforcing which would add a significant amount of weight. Even then you can't get inside the wings etc. which may not be strong enough to cope. I'm hoping they will release an IC version in this size. |
RE: NEW BEAST 60
I too thought it looked like it was strictly designed for electric, but I have a friend that was inquiring about it.
It would be nice to have an IC version. |
anyone flying one of these yet?

Hello All,
The Beast are trickling in and should be out by the end of the month. We have found an incompatibility between the production Power 60 470Kv motors with the 80 Amp ESC. Due to this we have changed the recommendation of the ESC for the Power 60 470Kv to the Castle Phoenix Edge 100. Please see the notice attached. Thanks David http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1910314 |
just enjoy the clean cut cow and clean running electric power 60 ? why would you want to slime up this airframe , I am happy they are not showing this in nitro ..

I have my Beast almost ready to go. as you can see i have fitted the Power 90. i will try a APC 19x8 on 6s and see how it goes. i'm at work for 8 days so hopefully if the weather is ok, the test flight will be next week.

Hmm How will this do with a Hacker C50?

It looks like the recommended prop for this is a 21". I think clearance would be an issue. When the plane is level, there is about 1" clearance. |
Dave - Thanks for the update. This plane had cause me to try electric. You guys keep up the good work.

Why not use a 3 blade prop? Will look better too. Interested in how it turns out if you go that way.

If it can take a gas engine though, no need to fuel proof, but the frame would need some reinforcing.

I dont know enough about electric to know why the C50 wont work with the recommended prop for this plane.
