Wattsup testing on 1480 motor...SuperXtra compatable?
Well I decided to test the 1480 motor and esc that will go into my Super Xtra...was not sure it would be up to par with the plane...also would give me some imput on what size 3 cell battery and what XXC rating to get...

I just did a Wattsup meter run on two prop sizes...pretty wimpy with a 2 cell 1000mah 15C lipo as it only wanted to draw about 8amps or about 60 watts running a 10x4.7 SF prop.....I hooked it up to my 12v flight box battery 7ah at 12 volts at rest.
With a 10x4.7 SF prop it was drawing 22 amps at 257 watts (volts?) with just under 40oz of thrust...LOL!
With a 11x4.7 SF prop it was drawing 28.8 amps at 317 watts, droping the volts to 10.97 and pulling 41.7 oz. of thrust....Dang!
Outrunner motor only weights 2.1oz and they rate it at 1470kv and 25amps at 6 to 18 volts...esc is rated at 30 amps and from 3-12volts...they list up to a 11x7 prop for the motor!
Also, what would you say this compares to in the Hacker line?
Ken
