There are lots of planes that will meet that criteria. This is not the forum to find them though. Just the main electric forum would be better.

The planes we talk about in the 3D forum are a big step from the basic trainers you mentioned and may likely be too much for your dad to go to next. Check out [link]http://www.horizonhobby.com[/link] they have many planes that will meet the criteria and be much easier to handle. When your ready to fly serious aerobatics and 3D then check out [link]http://www.3dfoamy.com[/link]. All the planes there are designed to fly 3D, other than the jets I suppose.

Also keep in mind that often time bigger planes are easier to fly and big electrics are very expensive.

A plane like this stick would be a great next step, [link]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFL2350[/link].

Just look for a 4 channel plane, but not necessarily a 3D plane. 3D planes are somewhat unstable by nature since that is required to perform some of the manuevers we ask of them.

BTW, this particular forum is for the support of planes manufactured by 3D Foamy.

o... ok i have in the electric general forums put a post in there asking about this plane. does it look good to you? he doesnt necessarily need to do that much stuff, he just wants a nice plane that will do basic tricks, he likes somthing that will look realistic.

That Pitts would probably be okay.

That would work, but it's probably only a bit better than the included radio.
