RE: Gee Bee fast?
I was lucky enough to see Delmar Benjamin fly his replica R2 at two different airshows. It was breathtaking to watch in the air, and seemed quite stable. In talking to Delmar after a flight he said that he always had to wheel land it at about 100 mph and control it with the brakes. The one time he tried to three point land it, he almost lost control. Models seem to share that controllability problem as well.
