Default RE: strange pitch set up problems

ORIGINAL: bignose13

Hi
I am setting up the pitch on my blades -10 +10 usual thing to start only thing is when i set to 0 at mid stick and the move the servos around a bit the pitch will change to either a + or - can be anything from 3 up to 5 degrees doing my head in spent a couple of hours on this and getting nowhere.
Checked the servos and they seem to be ok i.e centering at mid sticks also sprayed wd40 on the swash just to make sure it's not sticky but seems to be nice and loose
any ideas would be great
What position are the blades in when you're measuring the pitch? I ask because the X-400 has a problem with the elevator linkage being sticky/bindy and sloppy. It can cause the swashplate not to level properly making flight erratic. If you're measuring the pitch with the blades horizontal with the helicopters body when looking from the front, you might see a few degrees of variance depending on how the elevator linkage settles during movement.

Well, that's the only thing I could think of that would affect it other than your pitch servo being out of whack.
I'd go over every linkage in the head and ensure it's running smoothly. Especially the elevator linkage. I've heard that applying a small drop of CA to the screw fixes the slop problem. Myself, I just opted for the eCCPM upgrade. It's infinitely better. Like night and day on the X-400.
