Newbie Electronics Confusion

Hi All,

I have flown glow-plug planes and electric gliders, and I'm currently finishing up a Spirit 100 sailplane. I am interested in buying a park-flyer for practice and to teach my wife to fly. From reading these forums, it seems like the GWS Slow Stick would be suitable for these purposes. I have a Futaba 7UAF transmitter ( http://www.futabarc.com/manuals/7uaf-7uap-manual.pdf ). I'm trying to figure out how to use this with the Slow Stick, but the dizzying array of flight packs available at Tower Hobbies has me completely confused.

If I buy the GWS Slow Stick with:

-and-
a receiver crystal

Will that get me in the air? If I have chosen an inappropriate flight pack, can someone recommend an inexpensive one that will work with my transmitter?
