RE: Engine for the Lanier Shrike 40?
The Webra 50 - add either a Jett-Stream or Ultra-thrust to it... the engine will really come alive.
Next would be the Mag 46. Same thing - get a tuned exhaust for it, and it will run well.
Either of the above two engines with a 9x7 or 8.8x8.5 prop.
The ST 51 would work well too.
Skip the bigger engines you listed. The Shrike is a b_tch to balance even with a .40 on it.
