Ron if you want a really hard glossy finish in latex try benjamin moore "Impervex" latex it is available in pint size containers in several bright colors. then sand lightly and put a coat or 2 of varathane diamond high gloss its the hardest WB poly I know of , I used it to glass my spitfire with and it also makes a great floor finish LOL it is also low odor and recoats fast. with out a doubt the auto is a toxic brew ,just keep in mind the latex takes at least 2-3 weeks before fully cured for max fuel resistance
