Default PROTECH F-15 MAIDEN FLIGHT REPORT

Fisrt off this plane could easily be flown with a jett fire 50. I used a os32sx with a jettstream muffler and a 9x6apc hitting 17,500 on the ground. We set C.G. at 180mm. The engine was not mounted at the 110mm from the fire wall that would of had it all the way at the end of the mount. we mounted it centered on the engine mount, which helped out on the cg. All throws were maxed out, and the only pieces of plastic we used was the red piece behind the canopy and the bottom skids. To get the cg correct the battery was put in the tail. We hand launched with about a 30 degree angle and pushing from the rear. The plane took off straight with just a slight dip after lauching. only a slight amount of right trim was needed. The f-15 tracked very good in a striaght line, but did seem a little washy in the turns, but nothing like it was out of control. speed with that engine set up was maybe just over 100. I would not fly this plane until deadstick with no power it drops like a brick. We set our timers for 3 minutes and then brought it down and cut the engine on approach. Engine was killed just after final turn. I have posted a video of the mainden flight and you can see that once the engine has been killed how quick it dropped, i had full up on approach to the landing. I was trying to get it past the ditch. Hopefully the weather will be better tommorow and we can get more flights on it. We had to leave due to lightning in the area.
