yes, sounds tail heavy to me. Could be thrust lines but I would think the issue would be there all the time if it was thrust lines. both normal flight and inverted.
I land my show time just by throttleing back and gliding in. I do usuall require little or no up elevator to flare it. just let it glide in. and it should set up its own approach without adding in any elevator at all if it starts to stall I just add some power or a hair of down elevator to keep from stalling. I admit this plane lands a little different than anything else I;ve flown but it shouldn;;t be hard. if it is giving you "ulcers" I'd say move the CG forward a little.
