Ummm, pointed object tends to go through something, flat object tends to stop or slow down quickly, which in turn transfers the shock back through the fuselage.
Might be better to have to dig out the bird then repair accordianed fuselage.
This from someone who usually hits the ground so hard it doesn't matter if it's pointy or not......it's dead either way.
