Default RE: Weather stations for Rc parks

A wireless weather station is a good thing. Here are some simple instructions on how to make one yourself:

1. Go to a stream.
2. Find a nice, round rock, about 1.5" diameter.
3. Go to the woodbin.
4. Find a nice-looking piece of wood. Something like oak, walnut or mahogany is preferable for a more upscale weather station.
5. Sand and stain the wood until it is smooth and shiny.
6. Place the rock in the middle of the wood.
7. Set the wood/rock in a prominent location at your field.
8. Now you have a scratch-built, wireless weather station.

Now, here's how to interpret the readings:

1. If you can see the rock, the sun is shining. It's probably ok to fly.
2. If the rock seems blurred or fuzzy, it's foggy. If you fly, keep your airplane close in.
3. If the rock is wet, it's raining. I wouldn't fly in the rain.
4. If the rock is white, it's snowing. Don't you wish you'd bought those Dubro snowskis for your plane?
5. If the rock is gone, it's very windy. The only way to learn how to fly in the wind is to fly in the wind.
6. If you cannot see the rock, it's nighttime. Go home!
