RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
OK I'll throw in my 2 cents. I flew mine last weekend with an O.S.46 and a 10x8 prop tach was reading 11600 rpm. I used a 2400 mah battery pack in the nose. The CG came out around 9" from the leading edge at the root and it was a little nose heavy. The takeoff from grass was about 150' The control throws were as specified in the manual high rate is a little too much on aileron 80% DR seemed more comfortable. The weight is just under 7.5lbs Speed was 70-80 mph no speedster but very comfortable. Landing was as simple as setting up with the runway and holding some up elevator at low throttle and gliding in.
I believe a larger motor could be used without much effort, the only problem is ground clearance for the prop. Perhaps a .61 turning the same 10x8 at higher rpm would work out nicely. Or a dubbjet 40-50 and tuned pipe Oh Yeah!
