Hmm..

Many have used the YS-45 and it is a great choice-
The Patriot has great flight characteristics, it has a wide envelope... The generous wing makes a tip-stall predictable, but you would/should rarely see that (You want speed right?)
Keep up some speed on landing and remember to use the throttle to control altitude...
Did you glass the wing center?
