I use foam wheels almost exclusivly; when carring planes in my truck I use a piece of blue foam about 2x6x8 inches with a curved groove carved/gouged to match the wheel. This also serves as a chock to keep them still. I make the groove at least as deep as the tire height at the bottom. If storing them on their wheels sit them on a piece of soft foam 1 inch thick.
