RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
Hi all, the rain stopped long enough to test fly the jet in both mods. The droopy stab caused an immediate nose heavy condition and after I got to 3g of ballast I realized that when the plane went into a turn the air followed the stab. these stabs were pointed down. Plane crash. I'm going to keep the however, if I flip it over it might work.
As for the flying stab, it was way to high. On the first flight it was just a touch nose heavy. I added .5g ballast in the tail cone. The plane then flew, but if you turned hard it would invert and try to fly inverted. This result was repeated 3 times in minutes. I'm going to lower the rudder/stab by 1/2 inch. Should I put some ballast in the airframe? Also, I have come to the conclusion that silverlit had nothing to do with this airframe. My final filight was ended by the shearing off of the styro rudder. EPP doesn't shear that way. more pics later, Tim
