This is a high performance twin, not a glider. The real thing comes down pretty fast at idle as well.
The laws of physics and good design principles cannot be ignored or rationalized away even though it is a pretty airplane.
With an estimated relative minimum flying speed of 38 mph and a stall speed of 45 mph the glider comparison is hardly appropriate. The flight envelope will likely be tiny and inadequate for even very skilled pilots.
A more appropriate comparison would be to the heaviest warbird ever flown.
