I started to reply to this but thought better of it...
For your consideration, I submit that whatever the cost for the commercially made units for this purpose, it will be cheaper than RC modeling equipment.
For our consideration, it will keep you from busting up the model of some poor unsuspecting chap operating on either surface or air frequencies when you fire up your ducks.
