I ordered a DX6 for myself. DX7 is good for heli's ,and a bit overkill for parkflyers I would think.
I had a DX6 but when the DX7 came out I got it. The DX6 only holds 10 models and I needed more. The DX7 holds 20. I am thinking of getting another DX7 because I already have it filled and need room for more planes than the 20 it allows.
