I have to agree with you on this. I have the plug into the wall one and it is wonderful. There is a post going about the battery operated one not working so good. They are saying the battery does not hold enough charge to do all the slotting. Hopefully Great Planes is working on a fix for that. I also am in love with the power planer. What a tool that is. Cuts down on alot of labor. Good Luck, Dave
