I just got back from an office supply store. Bought a digital scale that weighs up to 10 pounds. And is accurate to 1/10 an ounce. $40.00.
That should take care of most of my needs. At least my smaller planes. Anything bigger than that, I'll need a different scale, and that kind of granularity won't be needed.
