RE: Futaba 9c radios and their color
I bought one of the new 9C's when the 9C's first came out, right about the time the 8U Super was comeing out. Mine has always been bright gold. I sent the 9C in this past year to Hobby Services an they were going to replace the front cover (I guess the gld was flaking off the old face pannnel) sny way I asked them if the had a Chrome relacement and they said that all the 9C's including the 9C Supers had all gold face plates. The reason why the 9C in the advertisment piture had a chrome face pate was the due to the lighting when the picture was taken. So If you find a chrome faced 9C or 9C Super and are able to latch onto it, do so, It could end up being a rare find. Then call Hobby Services and ask them why it has a Chrome face plate instead of a gold one. I would be interesting to see what they have to say. But don't let them talk you into sending it in for servicing because they make change it back to gold and then charge you for it.
