i was just thinking the other day how a twin engine plane might be a great way to get some more speed. then i thought maybe 2 scat cats or similar could be kit bashed into a p-38 type of build. i have not put any further thought into it yet? is it possible?
A twin engine/ twin boom Scat Cat has been done, some time ago. I clearly remember the picture but do not remember which mag and issue it was in. So it is definitely possible. Well, anything is possible of course, within reason. So yeah, no reason you couldn't do such a thing IMHO. A bit more wing maybe, add a center section to space the fuselages, a bit more stab area between the booms, twin verticals and off you go. Retracts?..
