It also helps for cleaning and maintenance work. For example, if you want to change the shift point in your transmission, at some point you will have to spin two of the wheels in order for you to see where the set screw is in the transmission to adjust the shift point. This is almost impossible to do without a stand, because all four wheels will start spinning when you spin two of them (because the truck is 4WD), and so you would have to hold it in your hand or something.
