Default How much (voltage) can a stock Clodbuster speed control handle?

Hi, i just purchased a clod which came with a bunch of extra stuff. One of the items was something that allows it to use Dewalt battery backs (the large kind that are used for cordless drills) It is basically a disasembled battery charger with a tamiya plug on it so it can be connected to a speed control. My question is how many volts can a stock clod speed control handle? I am guessing that the battery packs are about 14-16volts. I will try to get a picture up tonight.

Thanks
