Default Fut 7C vs Fut 6EX 2.4--Opinions?

I have just completed a largish gas powered plane and am considering installing a 2.4ghz system. I have been a Futaba user my entire modeling life currently with a 9C Super that I really like. The Fasst Module transmitter/receiver module is about $379. I can get the Fut 7C for trns/rcvr for about $279 and the Fut 6EX for $199. Just looking at the transmitters the 6EX looks a little more "entry level" than the 7C but has all the function I need (I think). I need to mix two elevator servos and use two aileron channels as this is a bi plane with four aileron servos, so six servo channels plus a battery plug on the receiver is minimun. The receiver included with either the 6 or 7 channel radios is the same.

So what do you all think? Is it worth the $80 to go with the 7C over the 6EX? Or would the 9C module be the best set up? Ive got about 12 planes set up on the 9C with PPM receivers and do not intend to convert the fleet. I have been reading that the 2.5ghz radios are preferred for gas engines due to their being unaffected by RF noise.

Thanks.
