Default Throttle arm question

After breaking in my maxx today and adjusting the needles with the help of the hobby shop guy, my engine was running awesome at 185* (body off and in the shade). I told the guy about the 270* limit and he said if it's running good now, why lean it out any more so I didn't question that. Should I lean it out so it's near 270* for more performance? After getting it home and doing some after run maintainence, I hit the throttle(engine not running) and noticed that the throttle arm would not return to full nuetral position unless I hit the brake and then it would "click" back into full neutral. Concerned, I took it to another hobby shop by my house and the guy there said it was normal. Was he just pulling my chain because the shop was about to close in 15 minutes and didn't feel like working on it or was he telling me straight? The truck was running fine at the first hobby shop and I just noticed this "click problem" when I got it home and it wasn't running. Thanks
