In the USA, range is determined more by the receiver than by the transmitter. Nearly all transmitters put out about the same power. It is the quality of the receiver which determines range; i.e. sensitivity, noise rejection, bandwidth, etc. Most of the major brands have essentially the same range on their better receivers.
Rodney is correct. And the range, specifically, is "out of sight" for those of us with even the best vision. Which is all you need for an RC plane.
