This is the response I received from PA:-
"the motor mount fit Thrust motor, Torque motor, Hacker motor and Hyperion motor as well as a few other less known brands.
so there is a standard. i dont' know why a supplier sell a motor that doesn't fit but they shouldn't
please consider getting a Thrust 20 you will be very happy with it"
Maybe a Thrust 20 is the easiest solution after all!
