Here is an idea perhaps you can work with. I take a short piece of aluminum tube and flatten one end and drill a hole in it for a #2 screw. Then add the appropriate length of alum. tube that will fit the inside diameter of the short pieces attached to the vertical and horizontal stabs. Thin CA the long tube to the short tubes after everything is set up. Not adjustable but it sure is light weight, inexpensive and works and looks pretty good.
