Doing my best.
My own top 10 as to why you don't see more women at the flying field.
1. It stinks.
2. It's noisy.
3. The planes don't always do what you tell them to.
4. It requires alot of patience.
5. The first four remind them of their husbands, boyfriends, and just men in general. (especially 1 and 2)
6. Its either too hot, too cold, or too wet.
7. Um....Most can't even drive a car
8. There aren't any flying fields at the shopping mall.
9. You can't pick up men there as they have already found their true love.
10. They'd be too busy "complaining" about 1-9 to do any flying anyways...so why not just stay home.
Actually,
I am doing my best to get my women involved...the ama should make a day/event of "take your spouse flying".
My wife will tool around the sky on my SlowPoke with a buddy cord on...she gets nervous because all my planes are kit or scratch built and she knows how much effort goes into each one. I need to put together a beater for her.
I also already started my 3.5 yr old daughter with model rockets and rubber band powered models!...start em early and they will get hooked forever! Or at least till she discovers boys...ugh.
