Default RE: REDLINE ENGINES

JC... While I haven't tried a Thunder Tiger REDLINE in an airplane, I do have one installed in a heli. I removed an OS engine to give it a try and love it.

The question of using a heli engine in a plane comes up from time to time and without exception folks have reported good results. Heli engines are designed for super low vibration and for carburetors that have no faults, particularly in the midrange. These qualities translate well to fixed wing. They are also designed to run at somewhat higher rpm and might consider that when propping for a plane.

A down sides might be higher cost. If I remember correctly this engine is in the $180.00 range and you still need to find a prop-drive washer and muffler.

Sooo... No I haven't tried one in a plane but past experience says if you can live with the cost, you will likely be very pleased.

Hopefully someone is flying one can help.
