No question is stupid, unless you don't ask it.
You can't just wire servos directly to a switch. The three wires are:
- power (4.0 - 6.0 Volts)
- ground
- signal (series of short 1 - 2 millisecond pulses representing the desired servo position).
In order to control servos without a transmitter and reciever, you will require a servo tester like those shown below (all clickable links), or some other electronics to generate the required signals. A 1.5ms pulse represents center on modern servos. The first one shown links to schematics to make your own.
